Security is on the minds of many Americans today. The border, firearms, travel abroad, software and home safety. Jesus provides the only dependable Security.

Christ’s intercession secures believers place before God in heaven. We do not know if Jesus uses words in His intercession, but we know its glorious effects: He answers all accusations against us for Satan is “going to and fro on the earth…” (Job 1) 

The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?” Zechariah 3:2 

  Who can bring a charge against us if Christ intercedes? We can no more lose a place at the Father’s table than Christ can lose His seat at the Father’s side. 

If God is for us, then who can be against us? (Romans 8:33-34) 

At the Father’s right hand Christ makes all our prayers and acts of service pleasing to God. 

“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” Hebrews 7:25 

Life has meaning and purpose and it lies in Christ’s final exaltation, which encompasses our salvation. 

We are secure. This is no secret service. 

Prayer

Christ Jesus the Righteous, we approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need. We live with the confident assurance that You are always interceding for us. Our security is in You in all circumstances. Bless this our nation and world. Amen
