One Round

“As you walk down the fairway of life, you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.” -Ben Hogan

When great golfers are asked their thoughts while swinging, many say, “My target.”

The golfer must avoid sandtraps and water hazards while attempting to hit the ball –straight. The Believer stands in the “tee box” of life and looks at what is at the fore. What is required is shifts, as do the circumstances.  Like the golfer, God’s people must navigate around and sometimes through harsh environments.

Consider the “Target” in life and the walk it allows you to take.

What have you learned from being in a few sand traps? Did you notice your empathy for others “in the sand” increased?  Did the three-putt on the par three make you bitter or encourage you to take more time when evaluating a situation?

Whether on the front nine or heading towards the 18th green, keep The Target, Jesus Christ, always in your thoughts before you swing.  Your score will be par-fect.

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” -Micah 6:8

“…for you only get to play one round…”

Heavenly Father,Thank you for the opportunity to walk humbly with You. May I always look to my Target observing what is in the fairway of life as a gift, delighting in your will, walking in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen 🌹
