“An atheist is a man who has no invisible means of support.” – God’s Little Instruction Book II

A holy moment etches itself into your soul like the rockheads of Mount Rushmore. A concrete image stands fortified in the hushed space deep in the mind, strengthening faith through grace.
What can describe the moments of life with the most gravity?
There are no words for the things in life that are dearest and most real.
But who can deny the existence of beauty, deep love and heaven’s holiness?
Raymond Beegle recently wrote in the Epoch Times, “When even the best words fail, music sometimes carries us further.” Mr. Beegle used Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s ‘Song of the Spirits over the Waters’ –
The soul of a man,
Is like water.
From heaven it comes,
To heaven ascends, And, returning again
To earth, It is ever changing.
Beegle seeks words with melody to pry a holiness deep in the soul, sharing the power with community.
Every person has their watershed event(s)- a break in the ordinary patterns occurs and time moves away within the soul, resting the faceted moment in a crevice. Holy expression permits others to join the same fullness. That mutual risk breaks isolation and lays the groundwork for community. When I wrote my memoir, Perpetual Grace, the framework was simplistic –a series of plain essays describing God’s grace poured over my life but seen through a screen of everyone’s life. Once I started the duty of composing the compositions, my guarded crevices crumbled, shining light in narrow fissures, permitting my grace story –God’s most real holiness- to be the story. His grace has always been our story. From Abel to my soul, no one has ever been saved other than by grace. The joys shared become multiplied, the griefs shared are divided.
When a pivotal moment occurs, our nature is not satisfied by anything less than God. There is a desire for the supernatural. In the beginning, we were made “very good.” A holy moment is the graced glimpse of what we were to be: sinless.
Prayer:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” -Is. 6:3
