“Nothing will work unless you do.” -Maya Angelou, 1928-2014, American author, poet
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor 5:7
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released a video of himself and some friends hiking in the woods.
The point was to pitch the idea of getting outside, enjoying the sun, breathing fresh air, and talking with friends. He said being outside also improves thinking.
You may have new ideas and be inspired to express yourself in inspiring ways when strolling outdoors. Instead of meeting a friend for lunch, meet at the park to walk and view the scenery of trees and nature. A small change may lead to better conversation, deeper faith and fewer calories.
Are you living an active Christian life? Walking the walk? The disciples left their homes. They left their way of life and walked great distances to minister with Jesus. Walking took on a new meaning. They gave up what they were doing, their own path, and their plans, and joined Him. Going with Him means giving up something and going in the same direction.
Improve your health. Go for a walk to contemplate your Walk with Him.
Prayer:
Walk; as you walk, invite God to show you creation. Thank Him for your time together. Look in all directions. Imagine the joy he feels in showing his work. Hear and touch what is presented. (breeze, ground, grass, birds, etc.) Remind yourself that God is reliable. Ask God to reveal Himself in new ways. As you finish, take a deep breath with gratitude.
