Audibly Heard

It ain’t the heat. It’s the humility.” -Yogi Berra, American baseball player, manager and coach

Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.- 2 Corinthians 10:17

When you get too big for your britches, Jesus may collaborate with those who can speak directly to the issue at hand.

I wrote a memoir, and it was a winding road to publication. The premise of the short volume is how God’s grace allows us to excel in our assignments and business on earth. Not knowledge or associating with the rich and powerful. Even the smallest thing we do can reflect God’s glory.

After publishing the hard copy, I recorded the narrated version myself—an Audible book. I entered a studio, put on headphones, and recorded the book. Producing the Audible was challenging and fun.

I excitedly called my mother and told her my book was available and she should buy it on Amazon.

“Why should I buy the Audible when I can call you and hear your voice anytime?” 😵‍💫

Mothers have a way of squelching arrogance. Jesus knows who to partner with.

It is written to not boast about your own pretentious plans. Only brag about what the Lord wants. See others before yourself. If you want God in it, put His name on it, not yours.

When someone says something that stings, it may be what you need to hear.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Make me a servant. Show me that each day is all about you. Help us to value one another in a humble spirit.

Lead me away from conceit and allow me only to boast in You. Amen
