Risen Indeed

Easter is the only time of year that it is safe to put all your eggs in one basket…

Happy Easter! I hope you are egg-cited.

Enjoy the weekend with some bunny you love!

‘Ears’ hoping you have the best Easter ever!

Hoppy Easter little chick-a-dee

These are some of the commercial/secular phrases used to promote Easter. They center around chocolate, bunnies and eggs.  Christians wait all year to proclaim, “He is Risen” on Easter morning confirming the resurrection.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.  Come and see the place where he lay.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” -Matthew 28:5-7

The phrase “He is Risen” celebrates Christ’s resurrection from the dead two thousand years later and will continue to be used until He returns.

There is a tradition that Mary Magdalene popularized the phrase when she met with Emperor Tiberius in Rome and told him, “Christ is Risen!”

This greeting is a testimony to the power of the resurrection.

“With great power, the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.” Acts 4:33

Along with the apostles from the book of Acts,  we can choose how to proclaim Christ has risen —all year long.

Bunny kisses and Easter wishes. Here’s to all my special peeps:

“He has Risen! He has Risen Indeed!”

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty,

Hallelujah! Christ has risen indeed from the dead. Glory and power are Yours forever and ever. I rejoice continually in your glorious and triumphant victory over death. Help me to live in, by it and for it. Lord, help us to live in gladness and grace every day of the year. Amen
