God and sinner reconciled. Merry Christmas
“This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:12
The entrance of God on earth into the human history book.
The Prince of Peace enters a world of chaos. Heaven descends to Earth as Angels trumpet the entrance to shepherds in fields—a fantastical announcement to the most humble crowd.
The Creator, King of the Universe reconciles the world to himself from a manger cradle…
A cross and a crown complete His glory.
Christians today call the Cradle event CHRISTMAS.
The word “Christmas” comes from the word “Cristes Maesse”, which means ‘Mass of Christ.’ Christian Roman emperor Constantine decreed in 336 CE that Jesus’ birth would be celebrated on December 25. And thus, Christmas’ date was decided. Historians believe that Christmas was not celebrated as a major holiday until about the 9th century. In America’s earliest days, Puritans were influential and they did not celebrate the holiday. It was not recognized as a Federal holiday until 1870. Today, even non-Christians celebrate the secular festivities that occur around our Savior’s birth.
In the first “Christmas’ every shepherd and the animals of the field could come near the Savior. Proceeding to His presence the shepherds praised God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told by the heavenly host.
The Heavenly Host are still are still praising Him while humanity may mirror their response.
