Giving Thanks To God for Evidence of Faith in the Lives of Others

“What did the turkey say to the computer?” “Google, google”

“We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people–the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel.” Colossians 1:3-5

Thanksgiving, the holiday, has become secularized. To become devoted to holy gratitude this month, imitate the Colossians and listen to Paul’s instruction on gratitude.

Paul thanks God for evidence of faith exhibited by the Colossians in the opening of his letter. How often do we acknowledge everyday acts of faith by those around us? It is a remarkable display when someone shows their faith. Lift your prayer of gratitude immediately.

Welcome to a heart explosion!

Giving thanks will fortify us today as it did the Colossians against the snares of an unholy world. By affirming God and recognizing the source of goodness is outside of ourselves, we are demonstrating trust in God and His perfect Son, Jesus. Give thanks, it changes you. It changes the world.

Prayer:

God our Father,

Thank you for the steady reports of the faithful that the Message is bearing fruit worldwide. Prayers are overpouring that more people want to hear the Good News. Please help us to spread the Word in our area today in order for our line of purpose to never grow slack. Amen
