Let There Be Light

From beginning to end, God has a full vision of our lives.

It may be perplexing to consider our lifespan and that God knew us before we were born.

Psalm 90:10,12  A Prayer of Moses, a man of God

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength, they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away…so teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you;…” -Jeremiah 1:5 NASB

Moses did not write 70 or 80 years as a limit or promise but as a poetic estimate of a lifespan. The emphasis is on the certainty that earthly life will vanish. The prophet Jeremiah was assured the Lord had known him before he

was in his mother’s womb.  Graphic of the full spectrum of light

Our lives are much like light: the visible spectrum of light is in the middle and is composed of seven colors. The infrared and ultraviolet, both known, are unseen to the eye. Red to Violet, we see and number; the rest is invisible now, although to be seen later. What is seen is a small portion of God’s complete plan for us.

Be a visible bright ambassador for the Lord in the days you have on earth, trusting His “invisible” plan too.

Prayer:

Almighty God, Creator and preserver of all mankind, whose kingdom is everlasting and power infinite, we pray for the church universal that it may be guided and governed by your Spirit and all who profess to be Christians be led in the way of truth to reflect your Holy Light in all their days on earth. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
